LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Anaheim has been selected to host the 2010 All-Star Game, Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig said on Wednesday.

The Anaheim Angels, who became the American League franchise in Southern California in 1961, previously hosted the contest in 1967 and 1989.

The New York Yankees are staging this year's All-Star Game on July 15 during what is the final season at the old Yankee Stadium.

The 2009 game has already been awarded to the St Louis Cardinals.
