Philip Harnett Corboy, Jr., to be Installed as President of Illinois Trial Lawyers Association

CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
Philip Harnett Corboy, Jr. will be installed as the 55th President
of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) at its annual
convention in Oak Brook, Illinois on Friday, June 6, 2008. Mr. Corboy,
57, has held numerous positions in ITLA, including serving on the
Board of Managers, Legislative Committee, Nominating Committee and
Executive Committee. He was elected Second Vice-President in 2005,
First Vice-President in 2006 and President-Elect in 2007.

Mr. Corboy will be the fourth member of the law firm of Corboy &
Demetrio to serve as President of ITLA. In addition, four Corboy &
Demetrio partners currently serve on ITLA's Board of Managers.

ITLA is a statewide organization of attorneys whose members
specialize in representing injured consumers and workers. Founded in
1952, the organization has over 2,000 members.

"The main purpose of ITLA is to uphold the civil justice system in
our country. Two crucial rights of every citizen under the
Constitution of the United States and the State of Illinois are the
right to a trial by jury and access to the courts. They are bedrock
principles of our system and have ensured that every citizen - rich or
poor, young or old, regardless of gender or race - will be given their
day in court. They are however, under attack by sinister forces. My
goal as President is to maintain and protect those rights and fight
against any and all forces seeking to undermine them."

Corboy's entire professional life has been devoted to protecting
the rights of all citizens. As an Assistant States' Attorney, he
represented victims of crimes; and now, as a partner at Corboy &
Demetrio, he represents individuals and their families who have been
injured or killed in personal injury and wrongful death cases. During
his time as a civil trial lawyer, he has settled or tried to verdict
more than 37 cases in which plaintiffs have recovered $1 million or
more.

In addition to his work with the Illinois Trial Lawyers
Association, he has been a member of the American Association for
Justice (AAJ), formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of
America, for over 20 years. He has served that organization as an
Illinois State delegate and as a member of its National Board of
Governors. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, where he
served on its Board of Managers from 1994 to 1996, and is a
long-standing member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the
American Bar Association.

Corboy is a distinguished trial attorney. He was inducted into the
invitation-only American College of Trial Lawyers, the country's
pre-eminent organization of trial lawyers that limits its membership
to those trial lawyers who are outstanding and considered the best in
their state. He is profiled in "The Best Lawyers in America," an
invitation-only, peer-selected list and has also been selected by peer
review for inclusion in the Leading Lawyers Network, which recognizes
the top five percent of all Illinois lawyers. Mr. Corboy has also been
honored as a "Super Lawyer."

A frequent panelist and lecturer on matters relating to civil
justice and courtroom issues, Corboy has been interviewed and quoted
in every print and broadcast media outlet in Chicago and the greater
Chicagoland area. He has also made appearances and offered commentary
on legal issues nationally on the Today Show, The Early Show with
Bryant Gumbel, Good Morning America, Court-TV, MSNBC and Fox News' The
Edge with Paula Zahn. He has also been quoted on legal topics in Time
Magazine, Lawyer's Weekly U.S.A., Of Counsel, Chicago Magazine, Inside
Litigation, Crain's Chicago Business, The ABA Journal, General Surgery
News, and others.

Corboy will be very busy this year. In addition to his position
with ITLA and a thriving legal practice with the Chicago-based law
firm of Corboy & Demetrio, he will also serve as the President of the
Board of Directors of the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan
Chicago (LAFMC). A not-for-profit corporation, LAFMC provides high
quality civil legal services to low income and disadvantaged people of
Cook County and served over 30,000 clients last year.

Mr. Corboy received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University
College of Law in 1977 and his Bachelor of Science degree from
Villanova University in 1973.
