(Reuters) - Below is a calendar of the major events in the 2008 U.S. presidential election campaign.

Arizona Sen. John McCain is the presumptive Republican nominee. Illinois Sen. Barack Obama clinched the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday night.

JUNE

* June 20: Candidates' May fundraising details to be released.

AUGUST

* August 25-28: Democratic National Convention in Denver

SEPTEMBER

* September 1-4: Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota

* September 26: Presidential debate in Oxford, Mississippi.

OCTOBER

* October 2: Vice presidential debate in St. Louis, Missouri.

* October 7: Presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee.

* October 15: Presidential debate in Hempstead, New York

NOVEMBER

* November 4: Election Day
