International Rectifier Names Mike Brown Chief Information Officer

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(Business Wire)-- International Rectifier Corporation (NYSE:IRF) today announced that Mike Brown has been named Chief Information Officer. Mr. Brown is responsible for the enterprise-wide direction, strategic vision, and business management of International Rectifier's global Information Technology environment. Mr. Brown will report to the Company's Chief Administrative Officer, Don Dancer. Mr. Brown most recently was the Chief Information Officer of Freedom Communications Inc., a billion dollar media communications conglomerate, consisting of over 100 newspapers and magazines, over 200 web sites, and a dozen network affiliated TV stations. During his tenure there, he significantly increased the efficiency of the organization via the strategic and tactical deployment of Information Technology, across a complex, federated organization encompassing approximately 50 business units and entities. Various major enterprise-wide systems were overhauled and adopted under his leadership, leading to improved capabilities in functional areas such as operations, finance, accounting, marketing and sales. Prior to joining Freedom Communications, Mr. Brown held senior IT management positions at several notable firms, including Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, where he established a large-scale supply chain system that helped Fox Home Entertainment gain record revenues and profits, along with receiving Vendor of the Year awards from companies such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, and others. He began his career at the Electronics Division of Xerox Corporation.
