Corel(R) WinDVD(R) Receives BD-R 1.1 and BD-RE 2.1 Certification

Corel(R) WinDVD(R) now supports BD-R 1.1 and BD-RE 2.1 for
  high-definition playback of Blu-ray(R) recordable and re-recordable
                                discs.

Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL) (TSX:CRE), a leading developer of
graphics, productivity and digital media software, today announced
that Corel(R) WinDVD(R) has received BD-R 1.1 and BD-RE 2.1
certification for Blu-ray(R) recordable and re-recordable media.
Demonstrations of WinDVD with BD-R 1.1 and BD-RE 2.1 support will be
held at Computex Taipei June 3-7, 2008 in the Corel Computex suites #
1109/1110 at the Grand Hyatt(R) Taipei Hotel.

   By receiving certification for BD-R 1.1 and BD-RE 2.1, Corel
WinDVD has passed the stringent standards and guidelines set by the
Blu-ray Disc Association to ensure the best possible user experience.

   With BD-R 1.1 and BD-RE 2.1 support, Corel WinDVD users can now
play back Blu-ray recordable and re-recordable discs including discs
recorded in the latest-generation Blu-ray Disc recorders. BD-R 1.1 and
BD-RE 2.1 use H.264 and VC-1 for encoding making it faster and easier
for users to record more content.
