TAIPEI, Taiwan--(Business Wire)--
Get ready for a super-sized TAIWAN RFID 2008 this autumn! What
makes this event special is that it's coupled up with TAITRA's
flagship show TAITRONICS (another huge event that reflects everything
about electronics - Taiwan's largest industry). TAIWAN RFID 2008, also
known as the 2nd Taiwan International RFID Applications Show, unfold
together with TAITRONICS at the just-opened NANGANG Exhibition Hall.

Running TAIWAN RFID in conjunction with TAITRONICS from Oct. 7 to
11 will heighten the trade profile and media exposure of both events
and multiply business prospects in electronics-related industries. And
success is virtually guaranteed as they are organized by TAITRA
(Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and TEEMA (Taiwan
Electrical and Electronics Manufacturing Association).

RFID is an important technology that will strongly influence
global industrial development. It is listed as one of the Top 10
crucial technologies of the century. According to forecasts by Allied
Business Intelligence, the authoritative U.S. market survey company,
the market value of RFID for 2008 is US$3.843 billion and its average
annual growth rate is 22%. By 2012, when product application and
market acceptability have matured, there will be an annual growth rate
of around 21% and the global production value for the market will
reach US$8.4 billion. It offers infinite possibilities in such future
applications as logistics, safety, medicine, agriculture, finance, and
transportation.

The first Taiwan RFID show last year welcomed more than 25,000
visitors to check the hottest in the trade. By representation, the
five largest buyer groups came from the U.S., Japan, Singapore, Hong
Kong, and Australia. International buyers showed high confidence in
the various kinds of RFID applications such as electronic tags, chips,
antennas, readers, and chip tags, developed by Taiwanese
manufacturers. With US$ in the millions in orders placed this show has
become the hottest venue in the region. And with the event came the
RFID Applications Conference that attracted nearly 2,000 industry
members who were keen on learning of the latest strategies, solutions
and international trends.

The coming October show will be even larger with display covering
RFID Parts & Components, Logistics and Merchandise Information
Solutions, Printing Machines, System Solutions, Sensors, Modules, and
other RFID Products. In light of Taiwan's advantages in RFID hardware
accessibility, the organizers have especially set aside an area
dedicated to RFID equipment and peripheral products so that
international buyers can get a complete picture of product lines.
Besides long-term advantages in manufacturing hardware, the actual
accomplishments of Taiwanese manufacturers in system integration in
recent years have also become increasingly diversified. There is for
example, the NFC mobile phone of Chunghwa Telecom and the Taiwan-made
RFID ear tag system initiated by Enrich Field Biotech.

Taiwan International RFID Applications Conference is back in
larger scale this year after being highly praised in the previous
event. TAITRA has especially invited Ms. Zhang Qi, Chairperson of the
China RFID Alliance and other China-based RFID heavyweights to discuss
prospects for the RFID market in the PRC and the latest RFID
technology trends across Asia.

Since the show opened for registration this year, 90% of
exhibiting manufacturers from last year have signed up -- just one
factor that underscores the deep confidence of industry members in
this event. These include such leading firms as Microelectronics
Technology, Chunghwa Telecom, Enrich Field Bio-Tech, J-Link
Technology, Ming-Tai Screen Printing Machine and Supplies, Champtek,
Watron Technology, the Identification and Security Technology Center
of the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan, and the
Article Numbering Association of R.O.C.

Last year TAITRA successfully invited important buyers, such as
Sybase from Germany, Hitachi and Siemens from Japan, and Shinsegae
Department Store from Korea to fly in for the show. And this year even
more buyers are coming as TAITRA plugs in its global network to select
the best RFID buyers from around the world. This is Taiwan's best
event on RFID, the venue you cannot afford to miss.
