INDIANAPOLIS, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- "Destiny's Family" (published by
AuthorHouse -- http://www.authorhouse.com) by Jan Gearries is the second book
in her Destiny Trilogy. "Destiny's Family" rejoins Ellie O'Neal, the heroine
of "Destiny Beckons" (also published by AuthorHouse). Living in Oregon, she
has found herself the mother of six children at age 22. Four of the children
she adopted in her travels from Ohio across the country to California and the
other two are daughters of John, the widowed man she recently married.
"Destiny's Family" finds Ellie struggling to adjust to her role as
matriarch of a large family. Moving to rural Oregon has been stressful, and
she is relieved that Eli, the wagon master from the train Ellie took in her
cross-country journey, and his wife Martha own the general store close to the
crossroads where she now lives.
At 22, Ellie finds herself faced with raising six children, married to a
man she just met and living in an unfamiliar area. Eli and Martha help her in
every way, becoming grandparents of a sort to the children, and even to Ellie
herself. When the crossroads begin to expand into a small town, John is
elected to be head of the town council. In this position John is responsible
for making sure that the town grows in a manner that provides the most benefit
to its residents. The town immediately begins construction on a new school
with everyone pitching in to help.
The new school brings in a new teacher from Colorado named Rose Adams.
When the school is complete the residents decide to name their town after her,
and the community officially becomes known as "Adam's Corner."
"Destiny's Family" has many twists and turns. Gearries deftly creates a
cast of memorable, sympathetic characters who face many of life's everyday
problems. There are broken hearts, prayers, love triangles, jealousy and even
a double wedding. A large amount of gold is discovered. The third book in the
trilogy will address the issues in "Destiny's Family" that Gearries leaves
unresolved.
Gearries writes of "Destiny's Family," "My target audience is females of
all ages. This would be a good book for mothers to buy their daughters when
they want them to think about God and right from wrong. It tells them to ask
God for help rather than lean on their own limited knowledge."
"Destiny's Family" is Jan Gearries' third book. More information is
