WASHINGTON, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- SocialMedia Networks announced today
that Co-Founder and VP Consumer Products, David Gentzel, VP of Marketing and
Business Development, Eddie Smith, and Developer Relations Manager, Nick
Gonzalez, have all been asked to be panelists at the Graphing Social Patterns
East Conference next week in Washington, D.C. The conference focuses on
bringing together both business executives and technical developers who want
to learn more about the evolving social media environment, and how to reach
online communities using new and established social networking platforms and
applications.

Kicking off the conference is a special three hour tutorial. The "Intro
to Facebook and Bebo Application Development" workshop will provide an
introductory technical overview of the Facebook & Bebo platforms. As a top
Facebook application developer and creator of several popular applications
with more than one million users, Mr. Gentzel will walk through the
development of a basic social application. Attendees will learn how to create
an application outline, app invitations & notifications, profile box, canvas
pages, news feed messages, and how to get list in application directories.
Additional demonstrations & examples will be provided by top Facebook & Bebo
app developers. The workshop will be held from Monday, June 9 from 9:00 a.m.
to noon in Regency F.
As consumers spend more and more of their time on social networks and less
viewing traditional media outlets, it is becoming imperative for advertisers
to leverage the channel and make social media a part of their marketing mix.
Mr. Smith will participate on the panel, "Where Social Gets Down to Business:
Advertising vs. Appvertising" and discuss how traditional advertising works on
social networks. Sharing what products and techniques are required to develop
a viral marketing campaign, attendees will learn how to use social networks,
social advertising and social applications to reach hundreds of millions of
today's online users. Mr. Smith's panel is on Tuesday, June 10th from 11:20
a.m. to noon in Regency E.
Providing a more technical perspective, Mr. Gonzalez will speak on the
panel, "Show Me the Monetization: Turning Apps into Dollars". Brands have the
opportunity to reach coveted demographics -- young, savvy consumers who tend
to shun conventional advertising outlets -- in ways that resonate with their
specific interests and values. Once an application goes viral and users are
engaging with it, brands still need to see results. In this session, Mr.
Gonzalez will share how to effectively monetize applications or widgets
through social media advertising for a positive ROI. His panel is on
Wednesday, June 11th from 4:10 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. in Regency E.
