Longs Drug Stores Opens New Store in Carpinteria

New store boasts photo center and natural beauty center.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., June 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Longs Drug Stores
Corporation (NYSE: LDG) announced today that it will open a new Longs Drugs
store in Carpinteria, California.
At Noon on Saturday, June 7, Michael Ledbetter, Mayor of Carpinteria and
Joe Armendariz, Carpinteria City Council Member, will be on hand to welcome
Longs Drugs at a ribbon cutting ceremony. Store Manager Yolanda Garcia,
Pharmacy Manager Garrett Viser and all of the associates at the new Longs
Drugs store at 1036 Casitas Pass Road invite the community to visit this new
Carpinteria store for the ribbon cutting ceremony and the festivities that
follow including games, prizes, free samples and a special grand opening sale.
The store is approximately 12,000 square-feet and offers comprehensive
services in pharmacy, wellness, beauty and convenience. The Longs Drugs
pharmacy is designed to increase the interaction between pharmacists and
customers and the wellness area includes broad assortments of vitamins,
supplements, and health foods.
The beauty department is designed to encourage customers to spend time
browsing, testing and touching the skin care and cosmetic product offering.
The convenience food area, which includes dry cereal, snacks, meal
solutions, dairy and frozen foods, is designed for quick fill-in trips between
grocery store visits. The new Longs Drug store also features digital photo
processing capabilities and expert services. The hours of operation for the
new Longs Drugs in Carpinteria are:

Store Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday

Pharmacy Hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday
10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday
