Hardware Architecture Generating Highly Realistic Images to Be Offered for Sale at Ocean Tomo Live IP Auction in Amsterdam on 26 June

SAARBRUCKEN, Germany--(Business Wire)--
Saarland University and Max-Planck-Gesellschaft today announced
that LOT 17b, comprised of patent US 7,289,118 relating to a HARDWARE
ARCHITECTURE FOR REAL-TIME RAY-TRACING, will be offered at The Ocean
Tomo 2008 Live IP Auction at The NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in
Amsterdam on 26th June.

The patents featured in this Lot disclose a hardware architecture
for generating highly realistic images of three-dimensional
environments in real-time. It implements the well-known ray-tracing
algorithm on a single chip and reaches performance comparable to
today's graphics technology, but uses less hardware resources and
requires less memory bandwidth. The architecture is highly flexible
and scalable and can be optimized for many different application
scenarios.

Possible applications include computer games and realistic
visualization in the design and development process of products such
as cars, airplanes, and buildings as well as standard graphic cards.

By many scientists ray-tracing is seen as the future of games.

With approximately $70+ million in transactions closed to-date,
the Ocean Tomo Live IP Auctions are often referred to by leading
industry professionals as a "forum of commerce." The auctions, held in
Europe and the US, have benefited numerous past sellers including
inventors, small to mid-sized companies, top multinational
corporations, investors and others.
