The focus of the 4th Annual GFIRST National Conference is to identify and
improve the coordination and collaboration among cyber responders in the
public and private sector as well as their role supporting the law enforcement
and physical emergency response community. The security of communications and
IT systems and response and recovery of these essential systems in a crisis is
greatly enhanced by interaction between various government and private sector
security teams. The conference is an opportunity for public and private sector
to foster increased collaboration around IT security efforts.
Tom Murphy has been invited to present within the incident response track.
Tom will be talking about the security benefits of enterprise application
whitelisting, including preventing data loss, identifying malicious software
and device control, including preventing the transmission of data onto
unauthorized peripheral devices like thumb drives or music players.
Whitelisting applications can also allow administrators to lockdown desktops
in response to breaches or suspicious activity.
Tom leads Bit9's worldwide strategy around application control and desktop
security. Murphy comes from Relicore, recently acquired by Symantec, where he
was Vice President of Marketing.
