New Tool Provides Collaborative Environment to FISD Member Community and
Financial Information Industry Overall

WASHINGTON, June 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Financial Information
Services Division of the Software & Information Industry Association (FISD) is
pleased to announce the launch of its Data Modeling Wiki, providing
constituents with a long-awaited and highly collaborative tool. The wiki,
accessible via www.fisd.net, will serve as a central repository for code,
definitions, and data models.

According to FISD Managing Director Tom Davin, "Our goal in creating the new
wiki is to provide a cross reference point for data modeling information and
dictionaries among our members and within the financial industry - a place
where technical and operations professionals can come together to contribute
their industry knowledge. Financial services professionals of all types can
certainly benefit from this type of ongoing communication and collaboration."

The tool, built on wiki technology to enable robust information-gathering
while also enabling simplicity of use, is easy to use for both technologists
and non-technologists, according to Bill Nichols, FISD Program Director for
Securities Systems, who drove the project's development.

FISD is actively soliciting editors from within the financial services
industry to contribute their information to the new tool and environment.
"There is so much industry-wide discussion about standards, reference
implementations and ways to model data, that we wanted to ensure everyone
could use our tool in ways that are very beneficial to their needs and to the
financial services arena overall," noted Nichols.

Also according to Nichols, "We want to enable everyone within FISD's
membership base to contribute data modeling information, as well as for them
to benefit from what other representatives have contributed. This new tool
should enable a lot of sharing within our industry."

The wiki will be officially presented by Nichols at FISD's June meeting in New
York City, on June 12.
