  OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Jun 06 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
 NRC Research Press is proud to announce the launch of Her Daughter, the
Engineer, a new book chronicling the life of Elsie MacGill, a Canadian
who became the world's first female aeronautical engineer and
professional aircraft designer. The book launch is being held in
conjunction with the national convention of the Canadian Aviation
Historical Society and the Vintage Wings Canada Open Hanger Day (when
World War II era aircraft, some associated with Elsie MacGill, will be on
display and flying).

    Noted Canadian biographer Dick Bourgeois-Doyle is currently Director
of Corporate Governance for the National Research Council Canada and is
also a former broadcaster and journalist. Bourgeois-Doyle has contributed
to many books, articles, TV features and radio programs on science
history, including the biography of George Klein.

    Dick Bourgeois-Doyle will also be participating in Doors Open Ottawa at
the NRC Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information
(NRC-CISTI) at M-55, 1200 Montreal Road on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 2
p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 7, 2008 and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at NRC
100 Sussex Drive on Sunday, June 8, 2008.
