Al Yeganeh, The Original SoupMan, To Make A Rare Appearance at Raleigh, NC
Grand Opening
- The Original SoupMan To Donate $1,500 To Stop Hunger Now -

NEW YORK, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Raleigh, North Carolina resident Steve
Lineberry is opening the latest Original SoupMan shop on Wednesday, June 11 at
12:00 p.m. The Original SoupMan, which is located on 6325 Falls of Neuse Road
in Raleigh, N.C. will feature the soups of Al Yeganeh, the man who inspired
the "Soup Episode" on Seinfeld. Since 1984, New Yorkers and tourists alike
have waited in line at Yeganeh's Soup Kitchen International, in all kinds of
weather just for a taste of his much-heralded Lobster Bisque and Jambalaya.
And in a rare occurrence, Al Yeganeh will be on hand to serve up soup, salads
and sandwiches to the customers!
During Lineberry's grand opening ceremony on June 11, one lucky customer
waiting in line will win a free cup of soup every day for the rest of his or
her life. The first 100 customers will also be receiving a gift bag filled
with t-shirts, mugs and more. The Original SoupMan will also donate $1,500 on
behalf of Yeganeh's charity, "Al's Feed the Hungry Foundation," to Stop Hunger
Now, a local international relief organization that is committed to ending
world hunger. Al's Feed the Hungry Foundation donates funds to local hunger
charities every time a new Original SoupMan location opens. The charity is
headed up by Baseball Hall of Fame legend, Reggie Jackson.
Lineberry's Original SoupMan showcases Yeganeh's 50 varieties of soup as
the "centerpiece of the meal," each presented with a piece of fresh, crusty
baguette, fresh fruit and a piece of imported chocolate -- just like Al
Yeganeh served it at his original shop. As Yeganeh explains it, this is simply
"the way to eat." Alongside Yeganeh's 50 varieties of soup there will also be
an extensive line of gourmet salads and sandwiches. The menu ranges in price
from $4.95-$8.95 for a cup of soup, and $6.95-$8.95 for a bowl.
