AIG Names Richard H. Booth Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
American International Group, Inc. (AIG), has named Richard H.
Booth to the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief
Administrative Officer, effective immediately. He will report to AIG
President and Chief Executive Officer Martin J. Sullivan and will join
AIG's Group Executive Committee.

   Mr. Booth will have executive responsibility for AIG's Global
Operations and Systems, Corporate Administration, Research and
Development, Office of the Customer, and the Strategic Relationship
Group. He retains his current responsibilities as Chairman of HSB
Group, Inc. (HSB), a leading worldwide provider of equipment breakdown
insurance products, inspection services and engineering consulting. He
also remains the senior executive in charge of AIG's Deliver the Firm
initiative, AIG's strategy to enhance the delivery of products and
services to customers worldwide.

   Mr. Sullivan said, "With his experience and long record of success
in operations and administration, Richard Booth is well prepared to
drive continuous improvement in AIG's critical support functions as
Chief Administrative Officer."

   Mr. Booth was elected an AIG Vice President in January. He
previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of HSB from
2000 to 2007. Prior to joining HSB, he spent 30 years in various
insurance industry positions, including President, Chief Operating
Officer and Director of the Travelers Corporation and Executive Vice
President and a director of The Phoenix Companies. Mr. Booth is a CPA,
Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He
received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of
Hartford's Barney School of Business.
