Comedy Helping to Heal: Klaus Biegler Presents 'Laugh San Diego 2008' Stand-Up
Comedy Show to Benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Comedy Helping to Heal: KXBEVENTS, a San Diego-based comedy production
company, is announcing an upcoming stand-up comedy show to benefit the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

SAN DIEGO, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- KXBEVENTS is presenting the inaugural
"Laugh San Diego(TM) 2008" comedy show benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society to fund blood cancer research, education and patient services. The
event will take place on Saturday, June 14, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at
4th & B Concerts in downtown San Diego (345 B Street, San Diego, CA 92101).
The event features Vargus Mason (Comedy Central, HBO Comedy), America's
Funniest Mom, Vicki Barbolak (E! Television, Nick at Nite), Kyle Smith (Jimmy
Kimmel Live!), and other San Diego and Los Angeles favorites: Mal Hall, Aaron
Hughes, Klaus Biegler and Mark Gonzalez. Host: Shannon Gettins.
The event is the brainchild of San Diego comedian and producer Klaus
Biegler. "Why me? It's personal. In 2001, the aunt who raised me died of
cancer. I couldn't do anything about it. I had my own cancer scare in February
2008 (thankfully it wasn't). Inspired by a friend and coworker who is a cancer
survivor, I joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training to
raise money, run a marathon to create awareness, and help save lives."
The event will be recorded for broadcast on Time Warner Cable Channel 19
San Diego.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which
is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding
blood cancer research, education and patient services. Since its founding in
1949, the society has invested more than $550.8 million to research
specifically targeting blood cancers.
