Aetna's Rachel Vorobyev Receives Outstanding Asian-American Business Award

HARTFORD, Conn.--(Business Wire)--
Aetna's (NYSE: AET) Rachel Xu Vorobyev, head of Local Market
Improvement and Targeted Growth markets, has received the "Outstanding
50 Asian Americans In Business" award from the Asian-American Business
Development Center, Inc. (AABDC).

   AABDC's "50 Outstanding" awards honor the accomplishments of
distinguished Asian-American men and women in business who demonstrate
leadership, excellence and expertise. It is the nation's largest and
most influential Asian-American award program. Vorobyev was nominated
for the award by Miguel Centeno, vice president of Strategic Market
Development, New York City.

   The Award was presented at a ceremony in New York City on May 28,
attended by 800 leaders from government, business and civic
communities. Congressman Anthony D. Weiner was the keynote speaker.

   "I am honored to have been selected for this award," Vorobyev
said. "I believe it is a reflection of the company's commitment to
diversity and to improving health care for all Americans, and bringing
about positive, meaningful change."

   Vorobyev joined Aetna in 2004 as head of Strategy & Business
Development in Middle Market Accounts. In her role as head of Local
Market Improvement and Targeted Growth Markets, her responsibilities
include leading the development of business growth strategies for
Aetna's major local markets and geographies, which also include
markets with a high concentration of ethnic populations, GLBT and
other new business sub-segments.

   Vorobyev is a member of the Aetna Diversity Board, the Miami
Advisory Council, and has served as the senior advisor to Aetna's
Asian Employee Network. She also is a member of the American College
of Health Executives.

   Vorobyev earned her Master's degree in Medical Science and Health
Administration from the Medical College of Virginia and a Bachelor's
degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jilin University of Technology
in China. She is a certified mechanical engineer. She also completed
the National Executive Program in Managed Care from the University of
Missouri, Kansas, from the Henry M. Block School of Business. During
her career in the health care industry, Vorobyev has held leadership
roles as diverse as product marketing; strategic business development;
medical strategy and health policy; provider relations and
contracting; and sales and underwriting.
