NEW YORK, NY, Jun 06 (MARKET WIRE) --
Jeremy Pitcock, a former partner at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman, LLP,
brought suit in federal court yesterday against his former firm and its PR
agency,
alleging a massive PR campaign bent on destroying Pitcock's reputation and
ruining
his career. Represented by John Balestriere of Balestriere Lanza PLLC, Pitcock
claims
that he has lost millions of dollars as a result of KBT&F's actions and can
no longer find a job in his practice area, complex intellectual property
litigation.

According to the complaint, Pitcock left the prestigious law firm Simpson
Thacher
& Bartlett LLP in 2006 to build the IP practice at KBT&F. In late 2007, after
Pitcock generated many new matters and recruited several new attorneys,
Pitcock claims he was fired so KBT&F could retain the benefits of his work
without
having to pay his more than $1 million annual salary. When KBT&F learned that
Pitcock joined a rival firm, KBT&F allegedly spread a series of false rumors to
sully Pitcock's reputation and prevent him from taking business to the new
firm. Whereas Pitcock and his former firm agreed to part ways amicably, KBT&F
announced in a January 22, 2007, press release that Pitcock was terminated "for
cause" for "extremely inappropriate personal conduct." In light of the negative
press,
the complaint states that Pitcock's new firm withdrew its offer of partnership.
Pitcock has tried to move on from this incident, but he has been unable to
find a comparable job due to his alleged reputational damage.

In a recent statement, Pitcock said, "I am appalled that a large law firm
would use its vast resources to hire an aggressive PR firm to destroy the
good name of a young and hardworking partner who did nothing but use his best
efforts to build up successfully the IP practice at that firm."

Pitcock looks forward to resolving this matter and moving on with the rest
of
his personal and professional life.
