Penford Appoints Andy Dratt as Vice President, Corporate Development

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--(Business Wire)--
Penford Corporation (NASDAQ: PENX) announced today that Andy Dratt
has joined the Company as Vice President, Corporate Development, a
newly created position.

   Dratt brings extensive new business and product development
experience to Penford. Before joining Penford, Dratt served in senior
positions with Sensient Flavors & Fragrances, FONA International,
Griffith Laboratories and Diamond Consultants. He was most recently
Director-Customer Solutions with Sensient Flavors, where he headed
that company's product development team.

   Dratt has an MBA from the European School for Management
