CHEYENNE, Wyo., June 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Great Lakes Aviation,
Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLUX) today announced preliminary passenger traffic
results for the month of May 2008.
Scheduled service generated 12,753,000 revenue passenger miles (RPM's), a
7.4 percent decrease from the same month last year. Available seat miles
(ASM's) increased 4.9 percent to 27,882,000. As a result, load factor
decreased 6.1 points to 45.74 percent. Passengers carried decreased 6.0
percent to 47,092 when compared to May 2007. Preliminary revenue per
available seat mile (RASM) increased 4.7 percent from 29.86 cents to 31.25
cents.
For the five months ending May 31, 2008 compared to the same five month
period in 2007, revenue passenger miles (RPM's) increased 6.5 percent to
62,956,000 and available seat miles (ASM's) increased 11.6 percent to
138,652,000, resulting in a load factor of 45.41 percent for the year 2008
effecting a decrease in load factor of 2.2 points compared to the same five
month period in 2007. The company carried 233,742 revenue passengers for the
five month period ending May 31, 2008, a 7.1 percent increase from the prior
year. Preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) increased 7.4
percent from 28.55 cents to 30.66 cents on a year-over-year basis.
