DUBAI, June 19 (Reuters) - Jeffrey Singer will be the new chief executive of Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX) and a member of its board as of July 1, the exchange said on Thursday.

Singer previously served as senior vice president at Nasdaq OMX (NDAQ.O), which owns around a third of DIFX, the Dubai exchange said in a statement. He was responsible for Nasdaq's global business development and managed international relations with firms outside the Americas.

Singer will replace Per Larsson, who has accepted another senior position in the region.

Borse Dubai, the parent company of DIFX, and Nasdaq concluded a $4.9 billion deal in February to buy Nordic and Baltic stock exchange operator OMX, forming a new company called Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. (Reporting by Jason Benham)
