Sacramento River Cats Select Black Box Network Services to Deploy a Pure IP Unified Communications Solution for Corporate Offices and Raley Field

PITTSBURGH--(Business Wire)--
Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ: BBOX) today announced that the
Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A's, have
selected Black Box Network Services to implement and maintain a
ShoreTel(R) Pure IP Unified Communications solution for their front
offices and Raley Field. The deployment provides the latest in IP
Unified Communications for the 14,400 seat ballpark and supporting
operations.

Understanding the River Cats' priorities to replace their existing
Centrex services with a solution that could potentially lower their
monthly telecommunications costs while providing improved flexibility
and increased end-user productivity, Black Box Network Services
proposed to install and maintain a full suite of ShoreTel UC
solutions. ShoreTel is a leader in Unified Communications solutions
and is well-known for its high customer satisfaction.

The facility-wide implementation included the corporate offices,
ballpark suites, concessions, security, hospitality, grounds, locker
rooms, dugouts and bullpens. The Sacramento River Cats expect this
implementation to not only provide back-office operational
efficiencies, but enhanced fan experiences as club employees are
better able to communicate and collaborate with fans and suppliers.

"The communications solution that Black Box Network Services
designed and implemented should offer significant savings on our
monthly telecommunications costs. We expect to save as much as 50% of
our previous monthly communication's costs," said Dan Vistica, River
Cats' senior vice president and chief financial officer. "Maximizing
our technology investments is always a priority, and utilizing our
data network for voice communications allows us to control costs while
improving employee productivity," he added.

"Black Box Network Services is committed to understanding our
clients' objectives and implementing solutions that are designed to
achieve those goals. After meeting with various departments including
the executive team, marketing, engineering, entertainment and food
services, we had a good understanding of what the River Cats needed.
We reviewed our full portfolio and determined that a ShoreTel
distributed unified communications solution could offer the River Cats
exactly what they needed - the latest in Pure IP Unified
Communications functionality, improved flexibility and productivity,
and potentially lowered telecommunications costs," said Rick Gannon,
Black Box Network Services regional general manager.

As a distributor of ShoreTel, Black Box Network Services deployed
170 ShoreTel ShorePhones(R), voicemail, ShoreGear(R) voice switches,
ShoreWare(R) Director, ShoreWare Personal Call Manager, and ShoreWare
Operator Call Manager for the River Cats. Black Box Network Services
continues to support the River Cats through an ongoing maintenance
plan.

As the largest independent provider of communications and
infrastructure solutions in the world, Black Box Network Services was
able to meet the River Cats' need for a network cabling project in
addition to the IP communications deployment. Black Box's unique
portfolio of products and services offers clients, like the Sacramento
River Cats, a single source for all of their communications,
infrastructures, and product needs.
