RiseUp, the First American Magazine on Race and Ethnicity Launches
June 22
KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(Business Wire)--
From the heart of America-and getting directly to the heart of
race and ethnicity issues-comes RiseUp, the first magazine about race
and ethnicity issues and their effect on our American communities.

Launching across the United States on June 22, 2008, with a
circulation of more than 4 million, RiseUp is a weekly newspaper
insert and online magazine that aims to spark an ongoing conversation
for all races and ethnicities about the things that make us different,
as well as those that unite us.

The magazine, which will be featured in the nation's most
circulated newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune, Washington Post and
New York Daily News, is the brainchild of Dr. Janice Ellis, a former
Kansas City, Mo., mayoral candidate, renowned writer and
businesswoman.

"I started RiseUp because I wanted to provide a readily accessible
tool to help us solve some of the problems we face as a society when
it comes to race relations," said Ellis, publisher of RiseUp.

Ellis said she feels the time is right for RiseUp to help
Americans start a conversation about race and ethnicity - something
usually approached with timidity or fear.

The Web site USARiseUp.com will showcase content from each week's
issue of RiseUp, and readers can join the conversation by sharing
their thoughts on stories and ideas posted online.

RiseUp will offer both in-depth cover stories on current racial
and ethnic issues, as well as lighter fare such as recipes, feature
stories and profiles, celebrity input and more.

"We're thrilled to be launching in such respected newspapers
across the country," said Ellis. "Talking about race and ethnicity in
a positive, constructive manner is important to us all understanding
each other better, and this response proves we're ready to start the
conversation."

RiseUp will be featured in the following newspapers at its launch
