LexisNexis(R) TotalPatent Wins Software & Information Industry Association CODiE Award

TotalPatent Now Includes English-Machine Translations and
Increased Search Capabilities
NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
LexisNexis(R) today announced TotalPatent(TM), the world's largest
collection of searchable full-text and bibliographic IP information,
won the 2008 Software & Information Industry Association's CODiE
Awards for "Best Online Science or Technology Service."

"The 2008 CODiE Awards recognize those companies providing the
best new technology products and services across a broad array of
industries," noted SIIA President Ken Wasch. "The awards and their
winners are a testament to the power of technology to deliver
innovative solutions to American businesses and consumers. SIIA
congratulates all of the CODiE Award winners and nominees, whose
innovation is essential for continuing America's leadership in the
global knowledge economy."

A research, retrieval and analysis solution designed with a broad
and deep collection of patent-specific content, the TotalPatent
service now allows customers to sort results by 11 bibliographic
fields, by main patent family, or by relevancy and to remove potential
duplicate information while searching.

As more patent information is becoming internationally based,
TotalPatent now allows customers to search English-machine
translations of the document. English machine translations are
available for documents natively published in French, German, Spanish,
Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Swedish. Finally, LexisNexis expanded
the number of documents on which citation analysis can be conducted -
up to 20 tagged documents simultaneously.

"TotalPatent contains more searchable full text, bibliographic and
English-language machine-translation content than any other patent
information provider," said Peter Vanderheyden, vice president of
Global Intellectual Property at LexisNexis. "Moreover, TotalPatent
indexes more than 250 searchable fields in the database, allowing
users to construct very simple or extremely complex queries to
retrieve results of high precision and relevance."
