Press Call on China Pipe Imports by USW This Friday After U.S. Trade Commission Vote on Subsidy Case Leo W. Gerard, International President of the United Steelworkers (USW) will hold a press call this Friday, Jun. 20, at 12:30 pm, ET, with pipe workers from two of the affected plants to comment on the final determination vote scheduled late morning by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) in a trade case against surging China imports of circular welded pipe (CWP). The ITC vote is the final step that has so far resulted in findings by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) of imports being dumped at rates from 69 to 85 percent, while being subsidized at rates from 29.57 to 615.92 percent. Manufacturing plants making CWP or standard pipe are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Alabama, Kansas, California, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Arizona.
