Academic Expert Rodney Alvarez to Head Program
NEWTON, Mass., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Attivio, Inc. today announced a new
initiative that combines formal internal training and professional development
with a university outreach program that includes intern and co-op acquisition,
promotion and integration of course curriculum on advanced information access
technologies, undergraduate research and targeted scholarships. The company
also announced that it has hired Rodney Alvarez as Director of University
Relations and Training to lead development of the program.

The goals of Attivio University are to recruit and retain talent and
evangelize the emerging field of unified information access, which includes
enterprise search and operational business intelligence capabilities. The
University will consist of training and curriculum programs that drive key
educational initiatives across multiple functional areas within the company.
Alvarez and his team will develop and manage training curriculum and identify
additional industry training resources and opportunities. Attivio University
will also build and manage relationships with university professors, deans and
other leaders to promote Attivio and the advancement of unified information
access through industry presentations, academic conferences, courses on search
technology and recruiting events.

Director of University Programs at FAST Search & Transfer, Alvarez brings more
than 10 years of industry expertise to Attivio. He has held training and
university relations positions at Camp Dresser McKee (CDM) and served as a
History professor at the University of Central Florida. Alvarez received his
PhD in History from UCLA.
