International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Endorses Obama for President

WASHINGTON, June 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Union of
Painters and Allied Trades today endorsed Barack Obama for President of the
United States.  The union, which represents more than 140,000 skilled
construction and design workers, cited Obama's leadership on labor issues,
workers' rights and strengthening the economy for hardworking Americans.

the vision and strength to secure American prosperity for the future," said
James Williams, President of IUPAT.  "The IUPAT and our members are proud to

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades represents more than
140,000 skilled construction trade workers including painters, drywall
finishers, sign makers and decorators.  Founded in 1887, the IUPAT has been a
voice for workers for more than a century, and has been involved in the
passage of major labor legislation, including the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of 1970.
