Scalability, open architecture, and a shared vision of the future
of library automation prompted Notre Dame to choose the Ex Libris
                            Primo solution
CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
Ex Libris Group(TM) is pleased to announce that the Hesburgh
Libraries of Notre Dame in conjunction with its colleagues in the
Michiana Academic Library Consortium have selected the Primo(R)
discovery and delivery solution to serve as a major library portal. An
Ex Libris customer for over 10 years, Notre Dame was the first North
American institution to implement the Ex Libris Aleph(R) integrated
library system. Since that time, Notre Dame has gone on to acquire the
SFX(R) OpenURL link server, MetaLib(R) gateway and metasearch portal,
Verde(R) e-resource management system, and DigiTool(R) digital asset
management system, all from Ex Libris.

"The culmination of a very thorough selection process, our choice
of Primo was prompted by both our positive experience working with Ex
Libris in the past and our confidence in the Company's vision for the
future," explains Jennifer Younger, Edward H. Arnold Director,
Hesburgh Libraries of Notre Dame. "Over the last decade, we have
developed a strong relationship with Ex Libris based on our shared
vision of the future of library automation. We are pleased that Notre
Dame users will benefit from a robust solution which includes such
features as scalability, enabling Primo to expand with our growing
collections; Web 2.0 social computing features; and an open
architecture on which users can develop code extensions to be shared
among members of the Primo community."

"We are honored to have had the opportunity to work closely with
Notre Dame since we first entered the North American market," comments
Oren Beit-Arie, chief strategy officer at Ex Libris. "The strategic
dialog we enjoy with the Notre Dame team has been invaluable for our
growth in, and understanding of, the needs of academic and research
libraries, and we look forward to continued collaboration with the
Notre Dame team. We are aware of the demand for high standards by the
users of the Hesburgh Libraries of Notre Dame and are thus extremely
pleased that the Primo discovery and delivery solution was chosen to
serve as the keystone of the library's infrastructure."
