EnerSys Elects New Members to Board of Directors

READING, Pa., June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EnerSys (NYSE: ENS), the
world's largest manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of industrial
batteries, today announced the appointment of two new members to its board of
directors.  Joseph C. Muscari joined the board on June 12, 2008, and General
Robert Magnus, USMC, will join the board on July 18, 2008.
    Mr. Muscari has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Minerals
Technologies Inc., which is listed on The New York Stock Exchange, since March
2007 and as a director since February 2005.  For the prior 37 years, Mr.
Muscari worked at Alcoa Inc., where he held a number of executive positions.
He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from January
2006 to January 1, 2007.  Mr. Muscari previously served as Executive Vice
President - Alcoa and Group President, Rigid Packaging, Foil and Asia since
October 2004.  He had been an Executive Vice President of Alcoa since 2002,
when he had responsibility for Alcoa's businesses in Asia and Latin America.
Mr. Muscari received his Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from
the New Jersey Institute of Technology and his Master of Business
Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
    General Magnus, who will be retiring from the United States Marine Corps
on July 17, 2008 after over 38 years of distinguished service, has served as
the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps from 2005 to 2008.  General
Magnus' operational assignments included Commander, Marine Corps Air Bases
Western Area and Deputy Commander, Marine Forces Pacific.  General Magnus'
staff assignments included Chief, Logistics Readiness Center, Joint Staff;
Executive Assistant to the Director of the Joint Staff; Head, Aviation Plans
and Programs Branch; Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Aviation; Assistant
Deputy Commandant for Plans, Policies and Operations; and Deputy Commandant
for Programs and Resources.  General Magnus received his Bachelor of Arts in
history from the University of Virginia and his Master of Business
Administration from Strayer College.  His formal military education included
Naval Aviator Training, U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the
National War College.  General Magnus' personal decorations included the
Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit,
and Navy Achievement Medal.
