Summering in Nantucket...Martha's Vineyard...the Hamptons? Charter Flights are
Quick, Convenient Option
BURLINGTON, Vt., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Summer at a seaside resort can be
wonderful ... if only it wasn't such hard work getting there.
Taking a commercial flight from western New England to such picturesque
Atlantic vacation spots as Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, or the Hamptons
presents a host of difficulties. Long drives to major airports, the need to
arrive hours early, delayed departures, standing in endless lines -- the
experience is almost guaranteed to be unpleasant. And when you finally land,
you may still be hours from your final destination.
Luckily, there's a significantly more attractive option -- a chartered
flight.
With a typical trip from Burlington to Martha's Vineyard -- a distance of
about 250 miles -- Vermont-based Heritage Flight (www.flyheritage.com) needs
only limited time to make all arrangements. So, someone in the Lake Champlain
area could call the airline in the morning, and actually arrive in Martha's
Vineyard the same day.
When flying from New England to Atlantic resort locales, Heritage utilizes
its fleet of Beechcraft King Airs. The company employs larger jets --
including Cessna Citation Encores and Excels, and a Canadair Challenger -- for
trips elsewhere in North America and overseas.
With Heritage's turboprop King Airs, the hourly rate is $1,095, with no
hourly minimum for same-day trips. So, a round-trip flight from Burlington
down to the Hamptons would cost only about $3,700.
And, since Heritage's rates are based on distance flown, rather than
per-person fees, clients can reduce individual costs by traveling in small
groups (the King Airs seat six; Heritage's other planes seat nine). In other
words, the above-mentioned, round-trip King Air flight from Burlington to the
Hamptons would still cost a total of $3,700, even if taken by six individuals.
In addition, further time savings can be realized -- and, as everyone
knows, time is money -- by avoiding the congestion and delays (including
security checks) of large airports. In particular, Heritage's King Airs can
fly out of many airports that are located much closer to passengers' final
destinations.
