2008 Summer Legal Institute
Intellectual property law firm, Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, a sponsor of
Just the Beginning Foundation's 2008 Summer Legal Institute, will present a
panel discussion to more than 40 Chicago-area high school students, primarily
African-American and Hispanic, on Friday, June 20, 2008, at the firm's Chicago
office at 455 N. Cityfront Plaza Dr., 36th floor from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The goal of the Summer Legal Institute and of this particular program is to
introduce students to different aspects of the legal system, expose them to
careers in the legal field and to provide them with practical tools for
achieving their educational goals. The group is comprised of racially and
ethnically diverse high school juniors and seniors from schools throughout
Chicago.
Members of the media are invited to attend this event.
Just the Beginning Foundation (JTBF) is a non-profit organization

increase diversity in the judiciary and legal profession. Built on the
contributions of African-Americans in the federal judiciary, JTBF offers a
series of pipeline programs aimed at keeping underrepresented students of all
ages on a path towards a legal career.
The Summer Legal Institute is an exciting 9-day program that includes
classroom lectures, logic and critical thinking exercises, writing and oral
presentation strategies, guest speakers and field trips to law firms,
