US futures point to steady Dow, S&P; softer techs
* U.S. stock futures edge up, suggesting a steadier start for blue-chip indexes and slightly softer for tech stocks. September Dow Jones futures DJU8 and S&P 500 SPU8 are both up about 0.1 percent, Nasdaq 100 NDU8 down 0.1 percent.
* U.S. indexes .DJI .SPX .IXIC fell between 0.97 and 1.2 percent on Wednesday, pushing the Dow to its lowest close in three months.
* Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc's (BUD.N) board plans to meet in person this week for the first time since rival brewer InBev INTB.BR formally bid $46 billion for the company, the Financial Times reported, citing people close to the situation. [nN18273376]
Anheuser-Busch shares are down 0.1 percent in Frankfurt at 39.70 euros BUD.F.
* General Motors (GM.N) is postponing redesigning its SUVs and full-sized trucks as it shifts its product portfolio toward more fuel-efficient vehicles, the Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition on Thursday [nN19293891]. GM shares are up 0.4 percent in Frankfurt at 9.69 euros GM.F.
