JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will visit Egypt next Tuesday for talks with President Hosni Mubarak, Olmert's office said on Thursday, after the start of an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, Olmert's office said the two had agreed a few weeks ago to meet to discuss regional issues.

Besides its efforts to end violence along the Israel-Gaza border, Cairo is also mediating the return an Israeli soldier held by militants in the Gaza Strip since 2006.
