Mitsubishi, Idemitsu to make non-food ethanol-paper

TOKYO, June 20 (Reuters) - Japan's Mitsubishi Corp (8058.T) and Idemitsu Kosan Co (5019.T) plan to build a factory to produce ethanol from non-food feedstocks, with a target of 200,000 to 500,000 kilolitres a year by 2011, the Nikkei financial daily said on Friday.

In a move to meet an expected rise in demand for such an alternative fuel for auto use, the two companies are set to invest 10 billion yen ($92 million) for a factory to be built either in North America, China or Southeast Asia, the paper said. ($1=107.96 Yen) (Reporting by Risa Maeda)
