Toshiba, Kazatomprom tie-ups "a possibility"

TOKYO, June 20 (Reuters) - Japan's Toshiba Corp (6502.T) said on Friday that further capital tie-ups with Kazakh state-owned firm Kazatomprom in the area of rare metals were a possibility.

Kazakhstan state-owned firm Kazatomprom holds 10 percent of Toshiba's U.S.-based Westinghouse nuclear power unit.

Toshiba President Atsutoshi Nishida met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev during a tour of a Toshiba train and elevator factory in western Tokyo. (Reporting by Mayumi Negishi)
