LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - HBO has renewed its half-hour psychotherapy drama "In Treatment" for a second season and is moving production on the show from Los Angeles to New York.

This is the second series after ABC's "Ugly Betty" to move filming from L.A. to New York in the past month.

New York State's recent decision to triple its tax credit for film and TV productions to 30 percent, with New York City offering an additional 5% credit, contributed to the transplant of "In Treatment," as it did in the "Ugly" move.

The serialized "In Treatment," based on the Israeli series, chronicles the weekly sessions of psychoanalyst Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne) with several of his regular patients as well as his weekly visits to his own therapist, Gina Toll (Dianne Wiest). Byrne and Wiest are returning for the new season, joined by a new roster of patients for Dr. Weston.

Production on the new season is slated to start in the fall for a 2009 premiere.
