LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Nicole Richie has signed on to guest star on NBC's offbeat spy fantasy "Chuck," which begins its second season on September 29.

The tabloid magnet will play a snarky, spiteful girl who went to school with Chuck's CIA handler, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), and has to confront her at their 10-year high school reunion. Zachary Levi stars as Chuck, a geek who becomes an unwitting counterterrorism operative.

"This role is a great opportunity for Nicole to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt," executive producer Josh Schwartz said.
