Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Integrity Applications for Path-Breaking Technology Innovation and Growth Potential in the Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring Markets PALO ALTO, Calif.--(Business Wire)-- Based on its recent analysis of the biosensors market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Integrity Applications Ltd. with the 2008 North American Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Leadership of the Year Award for developing the world's first non-invasive glucose monitor, combining three diverse technologies together, GlucoTrack(TM). "Integrity Application's product innovation focus was adopted as a plan towards achieving technological excellence," says Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst & Team Leader Dr. Rajender Thusu. "The in-house design team strengths were fully exploited by Integrity Applications to overcome the drawbacks current existing glucose meters that require piercing, limited accuracy to quality of strips (analytes) and limited analyte life, all of which have warranted the need of a non-invasive design and dispense the use of expensive strips." The premiere novelty of GlucoTrack is that it uses three independent, simultaneous technologies - ultrasound, conductivity, and heat capacity - to produce measurements that are fed into a proprietary algorithm. Secondly, this home use application can be used by the diabetics themselves, requiring recalibration only once a month. While developing GlucoTrack meter, Integrity Applications paid special attention to its ease of use by its end-users. With this emphasis, GlucoTrack design has a very simple pushbutton operation. It comprises of portable Main Unit that includes a large screen display and is about the same size and weight as an iPod, and a small sensor unit that contains the sensors and calibration electronics which clips onto the earlobe like a clip-on earring. The Ear Clip is adjustable and can be attached painlessly to the ear. Users can measure blood glucose levels as many times a day as they want, with no pain and no extra cost. This is unique and exhibits superiority over competing products, which require frequent calibration every few uses. With GlucoTrack, end-users can input their data and after a short calibration start using the device. The result is displayed on a large screen. When blood glucose levels raise too high or too low (according to user's pre-set levels), visual and audible alarms are activated. To ensure implementation of flawless communication and back up storage of data, GlucoTrack is fitted with a USB and infrared ports, to download data for off-line analysis. In summary, the key benefits of the GlucoTrack, which makes it the product of the year, are its high accuracy, three matched technology, truly non-invasive nature, cost-effective solution and infrequent requirement for calibration. For developing a technology that encompasses numerous advantages and offers a world of opportunities to explore, Integrity Applications is the recipient of the Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Leadership of the Year Award for 2008. Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to the company that has demonstrated the ability to develop and/or advance products with more innovative capabilities than competing vendors and products. This Award recognizes the company's successful adoption of new or existing technology that has become a part of its well-designed product family. Such innovation is expected to significantly contribute to the industry in terms of product performance and degree/rate of technical change. Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.
