The Honorable Henry A. Kissinger to Receive 2008 AMERICAN PATRIOT AWARD for
His Extraordinary Service to Our Country

WASHINGTON, July 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Defense University
Foundation announced today the recipient of this year's American Patriot Award
to be presented at a black-tie gala this December.  The Honorable Henry A.
Kissinger, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Former Secretary of State, will
receive this prestigious award at the Ronald Reagan Building and International
Trade Center on Tuesday, December 2, 2008.
 
The mid-career students at the National Defense University are the next
generation of ambassadors, national and international military commanders and
civilian defense industry leaders - patriots who have committed their lives to
furthering the security of our nation and the world.  Therefore, the National
Defense University Foundation's American Patriot Award recognizes exceptional
Americans who have demonstrated a profound and abiding love of country and
whose inspirational leadership and selfless dedication symbolizes our nation's
ideals, values and democratic principles.

Dr. Kissinger who, as National Security Advisor and then as Secretary of
State, served the nation well in times of considerable turmoil.  He is clearly

The American Patriot Award Gala is one of Washington, D.C.'s most prestigious
events, attended by senior Administration officials, Members of Congress,

to celebrating patriotism, the gala offers corporations and the American
public an opportunity to support the National Defense University and its
crucial mission of educating our national security leaders.  This year, more
than 500 guests will gather to celebrate patriotism and to pay tribute to Dr.
