ATLANTA, July 7, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Premier Exhibitions, Inc,
(Nasdaq:PRXI) a major provider of museum quality exhibitions throughout the
world, announced today that its new blockbuster exhibition Dialog in the Dark
will make its US debut this summer in Atlanta. Already experienced by more than
5 million individuals in over 20 countries, Dialog in the Dark will open
Saturday, August 30th at the new Atlantic Station Exhibition Center located in
the heart of Atlanta's premier live, work, play community.
Hailed as a unique and inspiring social enterprise, this renowned exhibition
replicates familiar environments and challenges individuals to perform tasks
without the use of their sight. Visitors are escorted through galleries in total
darkness, where scents, sounds, temperatures and textures turn daily routines
into an unforgettable experience. A reversal of roles is created where sighted
visitors are asked to rely on guides who are visually impaired or blind to
provide security and a sense of orientation, leaving them with a unique
appreciation and lasting impression of a world without pictures.
"Dialog in the Dark is a thought-provoking and exceptional experience, which has
become a highly anticipated, worldwide phenomenon" states Bruce Eskowitz,
president and CEO of Premier Exhibitions, Inc. "We are thrilled to bring this
extraordinary exhibition to the U.S. and debut in Atlanta at our new Atlantic
Station Exhibition Center. Dialog in the Dark will move participants and leave a
lasting impression."
"Dialog in the Dark is not an ordinary exhibition, but rather a platform for
communication and exchange between cultures," states Andreas Heinecke. "The
exhibition has provoked a change in perspectives, challenging our skills and
perceptions towards human diversity. We are thrilled to work with Premier
Exhibitions to enhance the experience of Dialog in the Dark and continue the
success we have seen worldwide."
Atlanta-based Premier Exhibitions, Inc., is presenting Dialog in the Dark
through a long-term licensing agreement with the exhibition's global originator
Andreas Heinecke. For his groundbreaking work, Heinecke received a Fellowship in
2005 from Ashoka, a global organization which recognizes social entrepreneurs
who work for change and strive to make a positive social impact through
innovative solutions.
A hallmark of the exhibition's impact on local communities is the more than
5,000 individuals who are blind or visually impaired who have been employed at
Dialog in the Dark exhibitions around the world. For the U.S. tour, Premier is
partnering with Manpower Inc., the world leader in employment services, to
advance the training and employment opportunity for these individuals. Through
its sponsorship, Manpower will hire and train the guides with the long-term goal
of sustained employment after the exhibitions close.
