AUSTIN, Texas, July 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thirst No More, an
Austin-based humanitarian organization, has received a major donation from
Weatherford International (NYSE: WFT) to expand its relief work in the Darfur
region of Sudan. The donation includes a large cash grant, along with an
in-kind grant of vehicles, furniture, office equipment and shipping
containers.

The non-profit group plans to use the donation to expand its operations in
Darfur, where it has been rehabilitating water wells since 2006.

Stephen Miller, who leads Thirst No More, recently spent seven weeks in Sudan
meeting with the organization's staff, touring various relief sites,
organizing upcoming efforts and working with Sudanese officials.

"I'm really excited about what this grant will ultimately mean to countless
people who need clean drinking water," Miller said.

"It's the kind of gift that can catapult an organization like ours into doing
bigger and better things in a region of the world where lives are at stake
every day," he added.

Over the past year and a half, Thirst No More has restored 60 water wells in
Darfur, which represents enough of the natural resource for approximately
100,000 people.

The organization also recently obtained a drilling rig that can reach depths
of up to 800 feet. One new well can potentially provide safe, clean water for
a minimum of 1,500 people plus their livestock and crops.

"Our work is designed to serve entire communities - improving health
conditions and enhancing the viability of the things that support life,"
Miller said.

Thirst No More has previously led humanitarian efforts in Asia, Russia and the
Americas, including relief work in Thailand following the tsunami in December
2004. More information is available at www.thirstnomore.org.

Weatherford's Senior VP, Burt Martin, worked with Thirst No More's Miller to
coordinate the gift.

"I'm confident that Stephen and his team will be able to quickly utilize the
resources in a manner that positively affects the lives of many people,"
Martin said.

Weatherford is one of the largest global providers of innovative mechanical
solutions, technology and services for the drilling and production sectors of
the oil and gas industry. Weatherford operates in over 100 countries and
employs approximately 38,000 people worldwide.
