Check Point's second-quarter profit rises

July 22 (Reuters) - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd (CHKP.O), one of the world's largest Internet security companies, on Tuesday posted a higher second-quarter profit, and saw double-digit revenue growth.

The Israel-based company said net income rose 14 percent to $79.2 million, or 36 cents a share, from $69.5 million, or 31 cents a share, a year ago. Excluding items, profit came to 43 cents a share in the latest second quarter.

Analysts on average were expecting the company to earn 43 cents a share, before items, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Varsha Tickoo in Bangalore)
