Mozy Founder Josh Coates Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2008

today announced that Josh Coates, the founder of the Mozy online backup
business, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2008 Award in
the software category in Utah. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award
recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic,
growing businesses. An independent panel of judges selected Josh Coates and
presented him the award June 27, 2008 at a gala event at the Salt Palace
Convention Center.
In 2005, Josh Coates founded Berkeley Data Systems, the company behind the
Mozy online backup service. In 2007, the company was acquired by EMC
Corporation and is operated today as a wholly owned subsidiary within the EMC
Cloud Infrastructure and Services Division.

Mozy automatically protects a person's digital information, including
photos, music, spreadsheets and financial documents, from data loss in the

files are encrypted first on the users' machine and then securely transferred
to Mozy's remote data centers via the same encryption methods used for online

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards celebrate their 22nd
