MODESTO, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Mirassou Winery is pleased to
announce the winner of this year's annual "I Do with Mirassou Contest":

Williams, have won $10,000 toward the cost of their wedding, plus a day of
dream wedding planning with Brides.com Executive Editor, Anna Pezik. The
couple also will be recognized at an event co-hosted by Mirassou and
Brides.com in September.

During the last two weeks in June, thousands logged on to Mirassou.com to
read about the dream weddings of each of five finalists and to vote for their
favorite couple. Rebecca's entry won with the highest number of votes --
thirty-six percent of the total votes.
Rebecca's winning entry: When Brad and I told our friends and family that
we'd gotten engaged, the most popular response was "Finally!" We met at a high
school youth symphony rehearsal and started dating shortly thereafter. In
college (Brad continued his music studies at Juilliard while I studied math at
NYU) we dated off and on. Brad left school early to perform in the Buffalo
Philharmonic. The long-distance relationship was so hard on us that Brad left
his position to move back to NYC where I was finishing a master's program at
Columbia. It's been a challenge for us to afford NYC rent while paying tuition
for Brad to finish his degree, but we also realize how lucky we are to be
together in New York. Our favorite date-night activity is catching a summer
Philharmonic concert in Central Park and drinking Mirassou Merlot with an
all-cheese dinner. (We love cheese so much that we named our cats Gouda and
Cheddar!)
Nine years after we first met, Brad proposed to me underwater while scuba
diving. We would love to have a beach ceremony and reception in Florida, where
we're both from. Our wedding color would be ocean blue, and we'll have clam
shells instead of ring pillows since Brad hid my ring in a shell when he
proposed. And if we're fortunate enough to win this generous prize, we'll
serve enough cheese and Mirassou wine to keep our guests stuffed for days!
The 2008 "I Do with Mirassou" Contest kicked off on Valentine's Day when
couples were asked to submit an entry that included an essay describing their
dream wedding. Of the thousands of entries received, five lucky finalists were
chosen based on the originality of their dream wedding, as well as its
authenticity and feasibility.
