Teleconference to Discuss National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas
WHAT: Nevada Senator Harry Reid will join with Former President Bill
Clinton, Center for American Progress Action Fund President/CEO John Podesta,
and University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) President David B. Ashley on
Wednesday, July 23, for a news teleconference to discuss the purpose and
details of the upcoming National Clean Energy Summit.
The Summit, hosted Tuesday, August 19, by the Center for American Progress
Action Fund, Nevada Senator Harry Reid and UNLV will join industry leaders,
scientists and policy experts to define an agenda that accelerates the
development of renewable energy, energy-efficiency technologies and robust
clean energy markets throughout the nation and world. The Summit's objective
is to define consensus ideas and principles that participants can carry to the
parties' political conventions and into the next presidential administration.
Topics of Discussion for News Teleconference:
-- Senator Reid will offer an overview of the expectations and purpose of
the Summit, and the State of Nevada's plans to lead the nation's clean energy
revolution.
-- Former President Bill Clinton will discuss the importance of the clean
energy movement as it relates to the nation's most pressing challenges.
-- Center for American Progress Action Fund President/CEO John Podesta
will explain the goals of the Summit, including an overview of the bipartisan
effort to develop a list of ideas and priorities to take to both political
conventions.

universities play in a clean energy revolution and the progress made by UNLV
to further this cause.
