Six Flags Friends, Declare Yourself and Seventeen Magazine Encourage Young
People to Vote in the 2008 Presidential Election

NEW YORK, July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Six Flags Friends, the
philanthropic arm of Six Flags, Inc. (NYSE: SIX) and Seventeen Magazine have
joined forces with Declare Yourself, the national nonpartisan, nonprofit youth
voter initiative aimed at encouraging America's youth to register and vote in
the 2008 presidential election, to launch the "Voice Your Vote" campaign.
This multi-tiered initiative combines pop-culture with politics in a
nationwide effort to reach out to unregistered voters at twelve Six Flags
parks this summer.
Beginning August 5th, all Six Flags theme parks across the US will hold a
registration drive that will deploy Seventeen Magazine and Declare Yourself
"street teams" into the parks to recruit potential voters. Six Flags will act
as a distribution channel for official voter registration forms, making them
available at all guest relations booths. The parks will also air public
service announcements created by Seventeen and Declare Yourself on
Six Flags TV to encourage voter turnout, as well as provide special text
alerts on their cell phones.
"Six Flags Friends is thrilled to be partnering with Declare Yourself and
Seventeen to encourage our young guests to find their voice in this year's
election," said Jessica King, director of Six Flags Friends. "We hope by
connecting them with the political process it will empower them to follow the
issues of this upcoming election and register to vote."
"We aim to reach young people wherever they hang out both on and off
line," said Marc Morgenstern, executive director of Declare Yourself. "What
better place to encourage voter registration this summer than at Six Flags
parks."
The "Voice Your Vote" program will also be in full force during each
"Starburst (R) Thursday Night Concert Series," "Sunday Rocks! At Six Flags"
and the "MTVU Video Music Awards Tour at Six Flags." Various artists and
Declare Yourself supporters will offer their voices to encourage concert-goers
to stand up and be counted. For a complete listing of "Voice Your Vote" voter
registration dates, please visit sixflags.com/declareyourself or
