Sigma Systems on Next-Gen Video and Advanced Advertising at Light Reading's
Cable Next-Gen Video Strategies Conference

TORONTO, July 22 /PRNewswire/ - Sigma Systems (www.sigma-systems.com) is proud
to be playing an active role at the upcoming "Cable Next-Gen Video Strategies:
Meeting the Satellite & Telco TV Challenge," a one-day conference co-hosted by
Light Reading and its market research division, Heavy Reading. Brian
Cappellani, Sigma's Chief Technology Officer, will speak on the next
generation of video services and the opportunities and challenges afforded by
targeted TV advertising.

Video Services - The Next Generation

In this panel presentation, Mr. Cappellani joins industry colleagues from
Cisco, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) and
SeaChange to discuss next-gen technologies, products, and services that cable
equipment suppliers and operators are developing and deploying. This includes
new HD and VOD products, network DVRs, portable DVRs, time-shifting products,
advanced set-top navigation software, interactive TV applications, addressable
advertising, IPTV and mobile video services. Panelists will also look at the
even more futuristic products that may follow.
"Video Services - The Next Generation" is being moderated by Alan Breznick,
Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading. The panel takes place on July 24th from 10:30am
to 11:45am.

Targeted TV - The Future of Addressable Advertising

Mr. Cappellani is also speaking as part of the day's final panel, which will
delve into the opportunities and challenges afforded by advanced advertising.
He joins industry experts from Comcast Spotlight, Tandberg Television (part of
the Ericsson Group), Openet and SeaChange to address efforts by MSOs such as
Comcast and Charter to test and deploy new ad systems that target TV spots to
viewers based on anonymous demographic data. They will also discuss the
prospects of Project Canoe, a clandestine, cross-MSO advanced advertising
initiative now in the works. In addition, panelists will look at the use of
switched digital video technology to deliver unicast ads to individual homes
and even viewers.
"Targeted TV - The Future of Addressable Advertising" is being moderated by
Jeff Baumgartner, Site Editor, Cable Digital News. It takes place on July 24th
from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm.
