Bay Area facility to incorporate laboratory, customer service and
sales teams for convenient Western client support
WOBURN, Mass.--(Business Wire)--
BioTrove, Inc. today announced the opening of a new Bay Area
location to expand customer and technical support to the west coast
region. Located in San Carlos, California, the new BioTrove corporate
offices and laboratory will facilitate research collaborations with
clients based nearby, as well as technology demonstrations of the
company's OpenArray(TM) genomic analysis system and RapidFire(TM)
high-throughput mass spectrometry (HTMS) system.
"Client service and long-term support are the cornerstones of our
business - life science research technologies can enable breakthrough
discoveries, and it's our job to ensure research teams have access to,
and understanding of, the platforms to help them achieve their goals,"
said Al Luderer, Ph.D., President, CEO and Director, BioTrove.
"Expanding our offices to California brings us closer to both genomic
research and drug discovery clients in the West, providing convenient,
readily accessible regional support for these important projects."
BioTrove's new facility is situated in close proximity to
strategic partnership headquarters, as well as clients in a range of
life sciences and drug discovery fields. BioTrove's two innovative
technology platforms, OpenArray and RapidFire, will both be available
for in-office customer demonstrations and client technical support.
Sales forces dedicated to these markets will also hold offices in the
facility.
"We already have marketing collaborations underway with Applied
BioSystems and Agilent, so being close to our partners' facilities in
the Bay Area enables further support and development of these
important relationships - and the solutions we offer clients
together," said Bob Ellis, Executive Chairman, President of
International Sales and Director, BioTrove. "Creating an official home
base in the West allows us to better serve clientele far away from our
headquarters outside Boston, helping us to meet the needs of clients
in the Western region and the budding Asian/Pacific Rim marketplace."
BioTrove continues to house its corporate headquarters in Woburn,
Massachusetts.
About BioTrove, Inc.
BioTrove, Inc. offers two innovative technology platforms:
OpenArray(TM), which advances genomic research in a wide range of life
science fields, including agriculture, disease research, and public
health, and RapidFire(TM), which enables the acceleration of drug
discovery and pipeline decisions. With 11 of the 15 largest
biopharmaceutical companies based on global sales as clients, and
partnerships with prestigious research and public health centers
around the world, BioTrove's products and services ensure that an
industry committed to accuracy and speed can meet business goals.
The OpenArray(TM) Platform enables genomics researchers to
generate SNP and real time qPCR data in the hundreds of thousands of
data points per day, significantly increasing the number of samples
analyzed while significantly decreasing the time and cost required.
The flexible format and nanoliter scale of the OpenArray(TM) system
allows for easy adjustment of sample and assay numbers, achieving
economical, high-throughput genomics.
RapidFire(TM) Mass Spectrometry (RFMS) feeds samples directly to
the mass spectrometer at six to eight seconds per sample, eliminating
the bottleneck created by traditional mass spectrometry
throughput. RFMS is routinely used in many applications including the
high-throughput screening of previously intractable drug targets, ADME
assays and directed evolution studies.
