PepperBall Technologies Introduces a New 10X PAVA ROUND with 10 Times the Hot Pepper Powder of Its Standard Projectiles
The New PepperBall(R) 10X ROUNDS Offer the Greatest Concentration
of Active Hot Pepper Powder Available to Law Enforcement
SAN DIEGO--(Business Wire)--
PepperBall Technologies, Inc. today announced a new innovation in
less-lethal solutions with the introduction of 10X PAVA ROUNDS. This
new line of projectiles has 10 times the hot pepper powder (Capsaicin
II) as compared to its standard hot pepper powder rounds and the
greatest concentration of hot pepper powder available to law
enforcement. In addition to providing added stopping power to subdue a
suspect or disperse a group, the new PepperBall 10X ROUNDS minimizes
the impact of environmental conditions, such as wind and rain, thereby
greatly enhancing their value to law enforcement, private security and
correctional professionals.
According to Darrell McCracken, Texas Department of Criminal
Justice, "We have found that the 10X ROUND is much more effective than
the standard PAVA round and it ideally fits with our correctional
facility needs."
The 10X ROUNDS contain a five percent concentration of hot PAVA
pepper powder, which will also be used in the new SA-4 rocket
projectiles. The handheld SA-4, a less-lethal pistol with twice the
kinetic force of PepperBall standard rounds, has already gained
overwhelming acceptance since its recent introduction with more than
30 local and federal law enforcement agencies adopting or testing the
SA-4 in the field.
The SA-4 and all other PepperBall launchers utilize the core
patented PepperBall technology that has proven to be safe and
effective by thousands of public and private agencies worldwide, with
more than 15 million projectiles used and no reported serious injuries
or lawsuits as well as thousands of lives saved. PepperBall
projectiles strike suspects with significant kinetic force, then
release hot pepper powder upon impact. Compliance is achieved through
this combination of the shock of being hit, the pain of the kinetic
impact and the irritant of a hot pepper PAVA powder cloud.
Eric Wenaas, president and chief executive officer of PepperBall
Technologies, Inc., indicated that the 10X PAVA ROUNDS provide
officers with the best option for controlling individuals and crowds
in many more situations than solutions provided by other less-lethal
weapons, such as the eclectic shock devices manufactured by Taser
International (NASDAQ: TASR).
According to Mr. Wenaas, "These new 10X ROUNDS have received very
positive feedback from local and federal law enforcement agencies, as
well as correction facilities. The 10X ROUND continues to make the
PepperBall line of products a great choice for less-lethal options in
many use-of-force situations including single or multiple suspect
compliance, stand-off resolution, riot control and bringing suspects
out of vehicles or hiding."
