David Hom, Leading Authority on Health Benefits and Value-based Design, Tapped for Advisory Role to TelaDoc Medical Services

DALLAS--(Business Wire)--
TelaDoc, a comprehensive service that utilizes telehealth tools
and physician or patient-assigned cross coverage, has named renowned
health strategist and health benefits authority David Hom as a member
of its advisory board. Hom is former vice president of Strategic
Initiatives at Pitney Bowes and is credited with Jack Mahoney, M.D. in
the development of nationally recognized and award-winning integrated
healthcare strategies that focus upon increased employee productivity
through disease, disability, and demand management programs.

"David brings extensive experience in human resources and
healthcare initiatives, with forward-thinking ideas for advancing
innovative value-based healthcare models with payers defined as
employers, business coalitions and health plans that improve quality
and promote cost efficient access to care - two key passions for
TelaDoc," says Michael Gorton, chairman and CEO of TelaDoc. "We
anticipate that his contributions to TelaDoc will enhance the
positioning of telehealth services among health plans and employers
that are committed to dramatic, sustainable health and financial
improvements. Hom will add a significant dimension to our focused
communication services which have become a mainstream component of
benefits plans nationwide."

Since 1992, Hom's work in program design and implementation of
eight primary care centers on site in Connecticut, Spokane, WA, and
Appleton, WI have generated proven results and earned him
distinguished awards including the 1998 NAMI (National Alliance for
the Mentally Ill) Corporate Leadership Award; the 1997 Washington
Business Group on Health Top Five Corporate Programs for Women's
Health Care Issues; and the 1996 C. Everett Koop Award for Health Care
University. Additionally, his accomplishments have been recognized by
the 2002 Institute for Health and Productivity Management Corporate
Health & Productivity Award; 1998 C. Everett Koop Award "Power of 2"
Program; and the 1998 Astra Merck Partnership Award.

Hom co-authored with Jack Mahoney, M.D., two authoritative volumes
which have collectively been read by over 100,000 decision-makers:
Total Value Total Return: Seven Rules for Optimizing Employee Health
Benefits for a Healthier and More Productive Workforce and BeneFIT
Design - the 7 Steps to value-based designs.

Hom received his undergraduate degree in economics from the State
University of New York at Albany and his MBA degree from Hofstra
University. He is a member of the Employer Advisory Board for the
American Management Association Compensation and Benefits Review and
is a board member for several emerging health care technologies
companies which focus upon improved patient adherence. In 1999, Hom
was recognized by the Committee of 100 which is a national,
non-partisan organization composed of American Citizens of Chinese
descent whose members have achieved positions of leadership in a
diverse range of professionals.

"TelaDoc is a best-of-breed telehealth model, bringing
cost-effective access to quality healthcare services for every
American," says Hom. "This program dovetails with employer and payer
initiatives to implement value-based design and can be of great
importance in the coordination of personalized care. I am particularly
impressed by the company's commitment to support interoperable medical
records as well as its dedication to the medical home model."

   About TelaDoc

TelaDoc Medical Services is a Texas corporation founded in 2002.
The company employs technology to improve the traditional cross
coverage standard of care, whereby coverage is assigned by the primary
care physician or patient. With TelaDoc, covering physicians have the
patient's medical record as well as the means to update
it electronically. Most importantly, the physician is now paid for the
encounter. While most visits occur in less than 30 minutes from the
time of request, patients now have a guaranteed encounter in under
three hours, with a flat rate fee per visit and 24/7 access to quality
medical care. Contact: 800.835.2362 or www.TelaDoc.com.
